Well, a lot happened today with regard to our wedding planning, and I thought it would be good to get a site going as well. We had talked about making a blog and I’ve been meaning to try out WordPress, so here we are!
I’m going to try to keep this interesting and as unpretentious as possible. Along the way we’ll see if I can learn a thing or two about some new technology.
That aside, today we picked a date, booked a caterer, signed on a location, and oh yeah, Michelle bought a dress. We went from like 5% done to what feels like 75% done. I’m sure as time goes on we’ll realize that’s more like 5% to 10%, but here’s hoping for more.
Welcome and enjoy!

Wow! Congratulations on getting so much accomplished!!! Picking a date and location and caterer are some of the biggest things you have to do, so it’s fantastic you have gotten them done already!
And, Michelle, you MUST send me pictures of the dress!!!! I’m so excited! It definitely makes me miss the beginning part of wedding planning! Lots of fun!!!
Oh, and not to totally burst your bubble, but your are much closer to 5% done, but you’ve got to start somewhere! If either of you need anything, please feel free to let me know!
My piece of advice for this reply (and I haven’t read your other posts yet, so I’m not sure what else you may have done) is to look into photographers next. And videographers if you’re planning on having one. The good ones go fast (and yes, even this early in the game!). These are probably two of the more important vendors. After the day is over, photos and video will be what you have to remember it by, so you want them to be good!
Okay, so I have one more piece of advice…if I haven’t said it already, pick up the Bridal Bargains book by Denise and Alan Fields. It is by far the best thing I have done for my wedding planning. I have saved SO much money by using it.
Okay, I’m done, at least for now!
Congrats again, and September 9th sounds like a lovely date!!!!!!!! =)
