Our Vineyard Wedding

It feels like I am rushing to play catch up from the 2 weeks I had to take off from wedding planning during our move. Now things are nonstop. Justin must be going crazy with all the lists I am making. But wedding things are on a roll.. invites are out, I have had my second dress fitting, we met with the minister for the last time until the rehearsal, we finally hired a florist, and the musicians for the ceremony are booked.

The to do list for this week includes: working on favor donations, creating the programs, getting a wedding cake, and booking some rooms for the honeymoon.

Hopefully I am not being too ambitious and that this can be accomplished by the end of the week, keep your fingers crossed.

Other exciting news… CONGRATS GOES OUT TO JESS AND MIKE on their engagement. YAY.

So after one grueling night, the invitations are mainly done and should be placed in the mail tomorrow AM. A big BIG thanks to my dad, Marc and Justin’s mom for hanging in there with us while we pushed through. They would not have gotten done that night if it hadn’t been for the group effort.

Well we are back in CT again, just got here in fact. We have another busy weekend ahead of us. We plan on meeting with our minister for the last run thru until the rehearsal, I have a hair/makeup trial, we hope to get a group effort going to finish off the invites and another dress fitting. So I don’t know what to do about my name… to change it or not? I am really attached to ‘Petruzzi’ I think its great personally and a little different. And although I love Justin and his family… the name just doesn’t have the same ring to it. And its my name… this is a tough call and I am not sure what I am going to do about it. I don’t like hyphenating it… since it gets too long and I have to sign notes all day at work. My mom thinks I should take my old last name as my middle name, and drop my middle name. This is tricky.

Our printer is driving me CRAZY!!!!

Update: The addresses are done… and they look amazing. There was some stress and tears involved but all is good now. Keep your eyes peeled soon to the mail… we hope to get them out by monday (if the new envelopes arrive by then).

What a week it has been here for us. Wedding planning has gone on a temporary hold. So what have we been doing? Basically our home flooded and we have moved out. We have had some temporary housing locations and our things are right now in storage. Good news is that we have found a new home (and it is amazing, and the complete opposite of a basement, located on the 5th floor) and plan on moving in this Wednesday.

We are spending the weekend in Portland to celebrate and party with everyone at Russ and Jaci’s wedding. I am really looking forward to getting out of here, and this gives Justin a chance to show off some of his new ballroom dance moves (make sure you get a dance with him, he has improved a ton).

Once things settle down a bit, I need to order and send out our wedding invitations. Since we are moving, I need to reorder the response card envelopes. But I plan on doing that today so they should be back soon.

Man what a whirlwind week this has been.

My veil arrived in the mail today. So I really really want to try it on and show it to someone to see if it looks ok. But Justin is the only one here right now… can the groom see the veil? Is there some rule saying he can’t, or does it get lumped into the dress thing? Man these secrets are kinda hard for me.

Ballroom was great!!! I loved it, and I think Justin tolerated it. It was fun just to try and play with it. I can’t wait til next weeks class.

On another note… we are heading back to CT this weekend. We both took Friday off so we could get more stuff done. I am hoping for some decisions to be made following this trip. And it will be fun to go home for a short time. More info to come as things get figured out…

Michelle and I begin our ballroom dance lessons tonight. I’m sure I’ll have more to say after this has begun, but for now I am cautiously optimistic about my aptitude for this. Justin of ten years ago would not believe it. Then again, Justin of ten years ago did not know Michelle, so I’m light years ahead of where I was then right out of the gate
