Our Vineyard Wedding

Wow, I haven’t looked at where we are in awhile. And since I have today off, its another wedding planning day for me.

May Goals:
-Contact Musicians (Working on it)
-Order cake (Working on it)
-Appointment for engagement photos (scheduled)
-Rehearsal dinner arrangements (DONE)
-Florist appointments (scheduled)

June Goals:
-address invitations
-make/print fillers for invitations
-hair/makeup appointment
-contract with florist
-contract with cake
-contract with musicians
-engagement photos
-dress alterations

It seems like this is the beginning of the final push…. only 3 more months to go!!!!

When do these decisions get easier… now its between elbow length or fingertip. Too many choices!!

Its official, only 99 more days til we get married.

Justin and I signed up for dance lessons… finally. I am very excited, we are going to hopefully get in 2 sessions (8 weeks) of classes before the wedding. I am trying to keep it simple right now, so it is only standard american ballroom (foxtrot, waltz, swing). I really really hope Justin likes it, cause there are so many more classes (samba, cha cha, salsa) that I want to take.

The big things we are working on right now is finding a florist, musicians, and a baker. Once that is done I feel like I am going to be swamped with all the little things. Luckily I have today off since I was in a class over the weekend, so today is wedding planning day. I am trying to set up florist and more bakery appointments for our next visit to CT.

I have also started to look into ceremony/cocktail hour musicians, but I am having a harder time with that one. I sent some emails to schools (Hart, Uconn) to see if there are any interested students. But my timing is bad, and everyone is already on summer vacation.

Other then that not much more is going on. We found and purchased our wedding rings. Now we both need to stop trying them on all the time. We can’t help it, they are just so cool. And I have recently become addicted to the knot wedding boards. At least they are helpful with finding some recommendations.

Well, after much deliberation we have booked our honeymoon airfare. We are flying from JFK to Athens on 9/11, spending time there and taking a boat to Santorini and back, then flying to Instanbul on 9/21. We’ll spend some time there, then fly back to JFK to arrive on 9/26.

Wow, I can’t wait! My passport should be here any day now… now we just have to plan all of our activities!

It is back to Connecticut again for Justin and I this weekend. It looks like from here on out, we will be making monthly trips. But things are getting done. Yesterday we made another visit to the jewelers and left some rings to get fixed and to come up with some ideas. And it seems like just my luck that as gas prices goes up, so do precious metals. Go figure.
So more news will be coming following this weekend.

I just got the invitations in the mail… and they are WRONG!!! Everything looks great except they are supposed to have a grape on the top, not some stupid leaf!!! And that means the response cards are wrong. I already emailed the company, but they said like 10 times on the ordering form that all sales are final. I know I didn’t send the wrong info, I had Justin check it for me to avoid this from happening.

UPDATE: Wow… they just got back to me… and they already apologize for the issue and will have the printer send out new ones. Thats really great, no word if they are paying for it or not. My emotions are running the gamut at the moment, once very upset, now feeling better.

March didn’t go so well as far as getting stuff done, we have loads of excuses, but basically not as much got done as we had hoped. So with that said, I have done some goal revisions. Perhaps I am a little goal crazy… can you tell I work in the medical field where everything needs to be goal oriented and measurable?

April Goals Revised:
-Contact florists and make appointments
-Contact/schedule appointments for cake tasting (really looking forward to this one)
-Place invitation order
-Begin tuxedo search
-Ring purchase
-Purchase honeymoon plane tickets (been kinda dragging our feet with this, its hard to make a decision)
-Draft vows, and choose readings
